A good online course at the high school level provides resources that are comparable to courses in which teachers and students are in the same room.

  這是道典型的比較結構題，比較結構在ISE和IS中都非常普遍。簡單點說，只要是IS中比較部分劃線，80%都是需要修改，也就是不能選A的，最常見的錯誤就是比較對象不同類，例如本題，原句中是拿resources和courses比較，顯然錯誤，答案是E.

  Knowing that the new movie would draw big crowds, our tickets were bought ahead of time so that we could avoid the long lines.

  (A) our tickets were bought ahead of time so that we could avoid the long lines

  (B) our tickets were bought ahead of time, allowing us to avoid the long lines

  (C) by buying the tickets ahead of time allowed us to avoid the long lines

  (D) we bought our tickets ahead of time so that we could avoid the long lines

  (E) to avoid the long lines, our tickets were bought ahead of time

  邏輯主語題是SAT IS中的秒殺題。 題干的基本結構為 Doing/done或Having done/Having been done…, S + V + O，而且大多是逗號后劃線，解題方法兩步：1)直接豎著看選項找開頭的主語是邏輯主語的 2)選項本身是完整句子。本題選D

  需要提醒考生注意的是，考試中的邏主題不一定如前面描述那么明顯，有可能會變型，不過無論如何變型，我們都要火眼晶晶辨別出邏主題來，SAT常見的變型有：

  1)Prep + doing…, S + V + O (有時介詞前有副詞修飾)

  2)連詞 + doing/done…, S + V + O

  3)連詞+ adj…, S + V + O

  4)To do…, S + V + O

  邏主題是IS的一大題型，每次都會考到且比重不輕，所以我們必須又快又準的解題。

  再來一題(11年1月Section 7)：After receiving a degree in agriculture from Iowa State Agricultural and MechanicalCollege, a faculty position at the college was accepted by George Washington Carver, and he took charge of the college greenhouses.

  甚至都不用讀全句，一看開頭是after receiving，馬上判斷出能主動發出receive動作的只能是人，本題只能是George Washington Carver，另外選項需要是一個完整的句子，因此馬上鎖定C選項，稱之為秒殺題一點也不為過。

  Were I to be granted a whole month in which to do whatever I wanted, I would travel throughoutAfricaand see as much of that continent as I could.

  (A) Were I to be granted

  (B) If I would have been granted

  (C) With me being granted

  (D) Granting me

  (E) By being granted

  這道題是1月份考生經常出錯的。答案選A

  IF引導的虛擬倒裝句是語法中較難的考點，全都是在一個section的IS部分后半部出現。所以考生們一定要對if引導的虛擬句的各種時態下主句和從句的動詞形式爛熟于心，否則考試中做題會既費時又易出錯。請大家牢記：

  1)與現在事實相反的虛擬條件句

  If + 主 + did/ were…, 主+ would/should/could/might +V原

  2)與過去事實相反的虛擬條件句

  If + 主 + had done …, 主 + would/should/could/might + have done

  3)與將來事實相反的虛擬條件句

  If + 主 + did/ were to /should do…, 主 + would/should/could/might +V原

  2011年5月也出現了虛擬的考題：

  Bridget worried that she might not be able to bring back many souvenirs were she to take only one suitcase on vacation.

  (A) were she to take

  (B) if she would have taken

  (C) was she to have taken

  (D) had she look

  (E) by having taken

  又是一道if虛擬題，答案A是省略if的倒裝用法，正過來是if she were to take, 和主句的she might not be able to…正好搭配，所以答案就是A。

  They had never before been in a museum with such an extensive collection, they had a difficult time deciding how to make the most of the limited time they could spend there.

  (A) They had never before been

  (B) They never before were

  (C) Never before had they been

  (D) Never before having been

  (E) Because of never before being

  在考場上選C的同學很多，因為C本身屬于倒裝句，算是不錯的寫法。不過本題除了倒裝還考到了句子結構，C犯了run-on的錯誤，應該選D。其實如果對SAT以往的考題非常熟悉的話，這道題是能選對的。請看09年5月的IS題：

  We had never seen anything like this style of architecture before, we thought we were looking at giant sculptures, nor buildings.

  (A) We had never seen

  (B) We never saw

  (C) Never had we seen

  (D) Never having seen

  (E) Never seeing

  是不是和2011年5月的題如出一轍啊，選D

  在ISE題目中，形容詞和副詞的混用是很常見的，正是因為如此很多考生一看到副詞劃線就本能的反應是對的，當然大多數情況是這樣的，不過要小心例外啊。例如：

  Coffee tastes bitterly and gives off a burned smell if it is overheated or brewed for too long. No error

  之所以bitterly在本句中是錯誤的，是因為taste屬于感官動詞，和系動詞一樣后面要跟形容詞，大家要小心。

  最后，提醒同學們注意一種題型，就是redundancy，因為這類題目一般比較隱蔽，考生容易忽視。

  In 1961 Rita Moreno gained fame and won an Academy Award for her portraying Anita in the film adaptation of the groundbreaking Broadway musical West Side Story. No error

  C選項“for her portraying”應該改為“for portraying” or “for her portrayal of” .

  再如：

  In 1912 the mayor ofTokyogave thousands of cherry trees to the city ofWashington, D.C., which holds the annual National Cherry Blossom Festival every year to commemorate this gift.

  這道題讀完原句后，那些對SAT語法非常熟悉的同學們應該敏感的捕捉到一個詞“annual”，因此不需要看選項都能猜出答案是什么。annual/annually與every/each year在語法題中不是第一次出現了，像這樣的技巧大家一定要多總結。
