為什么the American Burying Beetles數量decline：
1. Pesticides used by farmers leak into the ground and be poisonous。
2. human development destroy the habitat for beetles ,Habitat被fragment了。

聽力反駁：
1、東北部beetles在殺蟲劑第一次使用前已經大量下降，中部的beetles在殺蟲劑使用后還存活了很久，所以沒有必然聯系。
2、有另一種和burying beetle有一樣的habitat和eating habits的beetle也遭遇了fragmentation，但是那種beetle數量沒大幅下降所以不能解釋。
3、beetle靈敏的嗅覺可以讓他們快速找到很遠的食物，并且釋放chemical讓其他動物都找不到，所以食物競爭不會成為數量下降大幅的原因

Campus Sculpture
A graduate of the university recently gave the university a large sum ofmoney to be used to beautify the campus grounds. Administrators are considering using the money to purchase a sculpture by a well-known artist for the main lawn. I enthusiastically support the idea. I think installing a majon sculpture would be the best way to make our campus look more attractive since it would add a nice focal point to catch people's attention. Also, the center of the campus lawn is a perfect location: it's spacious, open, and currently not used.

Flipped Classroom
With traditional teaching methods. teachers use class time to lecture and introduce new information to students. Students then perform the challenging task ofapplying the newinformation by completing assignments outside ofclass without assistance from the teacher.Research has shown however, that students may learn better when traditional methods are reversed and teachers instead use the flipped classroom method.Using this methodteachers often record lectures for students to listen to on their own outside of class.This makes class time available for students to complete the more challenging task of applying the new information from the lecture by working on assignments in class with guidance from the teacher.

1、天文學：地球為什么適宜人類居住，討論了其他行星比如火星，金星的區別

2、美國交通的發展歷史：
先是修建了伊利諾伊運河，促進了很多城市和五大湖的互通，很多城市經濟得到了發展，后來發現運河的建造和維護成本都很高，于是開始發展鐵路，建造成本低，速度更快。

3、火星上面存在水的證據。
一是火星上曾經有很多河床；二是小行星的撞擊會使溫度升高然后形成了一些形成了降雨，與此同時也會產生一些溫室氣體和水蒸氣然后，形成了火星的大氣。

4、marsupial opossum。
講marsupial比placenta更加原始，體現在頭骨窄小，牙多，腦子小。
marsupial在South note America, Africa還是 landmass時候存在，但是大陸分裂之后，很多地方的marsupial由于缺少競爭力死了。只有South的還有，但是South和north再合并的時候，North上進化的大型食肉動物對marsupial造成很大威脅。現在只有澳大利亞，south america還有marsupial。
很多人覺得他們是living fossil,但其實他們在100-1500年前evolve過一次，所這個說法不準。
現在由于人類活動，很多地方不適合大型動物居住，但是marsupial啥都吃，人類的垃圾、食物之類的反而成了他們的生存優勢。

5、犁地的工具。
一種S工具和一種heavy工具和社會發展的關系。heavy更好用 ,好用但不是所有人都用。

6、美國某地濕地流失的三個原因和解決措施。
美國某地wetland loss非常嚴重，原因如下：
(1)wetland有tilt，會不斷被erode，但是有Mississippi River的sediments，達到一個流失和補充的平衡。但是人們修dams，reservoir減少了Mississippi River的sediments和flood的頻率，入不敷出，流失變多，沉積的泥土變少，侵蝕更嚴重。
(2)人們開采oil，建cannal，pipes,這些東西使一些地方不適合植物生長了，沒了植物的固土，進一步流失。
(3)一種入侵動物（praire dogs）也會對wetland有害，原本它的fur有經濟價值，人們捕殺它獲利，間接控制了它的數量，但是現在不值錢了，praire dogs數量多。
政府有一些政策企圖改善，例如減少開采、控制大壩、蓄水池，增加floods，但是很多人贊同，漁民覺得增加放水淡水變多，水里生物會有影響。下游居民怕洪水被迫搬家。開采減少獲利減少等。但是最終政府出臺法律。

1、學生應聘校園餐廳服務員，他會法語和一點中文，而且有服務生經驗，老師很滿意，溝通上班時間。
2、學生想在下個月姐姐的婚禮上寫首詩念，求助老師。
老師表示教的是poem欣賞、分析，和寫不能相提并論。就像能分析一幅畫的techniques不代表能畫。老師給了2個建議:1.下學期上一門另外一個教授寫詩的課。學生表示來不及婚禮。2.去參加一個poem club,這個club會一起交流如何寫詩，給建議、批評，會對學生有幫助。

1、細菌和降雨的關系。
過去人們很少從bioprecipitation這個角度考慮細菌對于降水的關系，例如某種細菌可以提高水結冰的溫度，導致細胞壁破碎，細菌就能吸收營營養。細菌運作原理主要是，細菌生在在植物上，經過蒸騰，雨水，降雨，這個細菌能到另一片地方，保證其生存。

2、16世紀荷蘭藝術重要變化。
之前是顧客出錢指定畫家作畫，后來，荷蘭有錢人變多了，于是對于畫作需求變大。畫家們也不再是按要求作畫，而是自己畫然后出售，并且還產生了新的繪畫流派。

3、market equilibrium市場活動的外生因素。
交易對于除買賣雙方外的影響。舉例舉例養蜜蜂傳粉對環境好和種番茄噴pesticides對環境有害，但是交易雙方都不會在乎這些。
